I'm going to try and blog more than once a month but honestly I just haven't had the time. That's not completely true I have had a few moments in between working 40-48 hours a week but I didn't want to spend it on the computer...I mostly spent it in bed. But on the bright side I am making lots of money. Even enough to start saving and investing kinda. I guess it's time for an update..I didn't graduate because I took yet another semester off but this is the last one I promise. Aaron is going to move into the house with me. I thought this is someting that would scare me to death but i'm super excited. We have such different schedules that we mostly just see each other the hours we are sleeping. He works 2nd shift and I work until 2 or 3 or 4 in the morning. The thing about him moving in is I am really nervous about telling my dad. My dad likes him and all but I still daddy's little girl. I still have a month or two to tell him about it we'll see how that goes. Not to much else has really been going on. Kurt and I were going to take "i didn't graduate" trip, but it's postponed until thanksgiving week. So far the winner is California. So that should be fun. I miss it there a lot and by November I will want to be somewhere a little warmer for a change. I'm going to Chicago tommorrow because it's my first weekend off in about 6 weeks. I need to see family and some friends. Oh and I am going to the boat with my grandma to gamble a bit that should be fun.

p.s. Matt was filming a new movie in New Orleans. http://www.solsticethemovie.com/ It looks kind of interesting hopefully it will make him more recognized. It's the same director as the blair witch project. Look for it when it comes out.

I just have time for a quick update before it's time for work. Aaron and I went to Myrtle Beach together and it was really great. Everyone kept saying that a vacation is a deal breaker and that we would probably end up hating each other, but nothing of the sort happened. The weather sucked big time, but what are you going to do. You can plan everything but the weather. Work is really good. I've been there 6 months and I just got a dollar an hour raise. Which makes me really happy. I still need to get another job. This one pays the bills and then some but I have a lot of free time that I don't know what to do with myself, and i also need a new car. One of my regulars wants me to clean his house for him. I know he will pay me really well. People think I shouldn't do it because he might 'try to take advantage of me'. Where has the faith in human kind gone? We'll see how that goes.
Not to much else is new. I have been thinking more and more about moving to Cali this summer. I think I just fit in better there and I am sick of my surroundings here in Illinois. I only have a few factors holding me back here. One is the little bit of family I have here and money to move out there. I know it's going to take a lot to start up out there and live on while I find a job.
That's all for now...off to work for the man

It was unofficial on Friday. Like I said before it's the greatest day in drinking history. I had quite the day. I heard everyone else start at 10ish downstairs while I slept in until about noon. I went and got food with the boy and ate with a bunch of drunk college students. I wishing at that point that I could have been lucky enough to be one of them. We came back and watched a movie...things are getting pretty exciting right about now:) I got a call about 2 from my coworker for the nite. She informed me that she was completely hammered (gee, thanks for rubbing it in that I had to be the responsible one). She also mentioned that she prolly would be a little slow working tonight and not to tell anyone that she called and told me all this because she would get in trouble. Which is nothing unusual because she is the slowest person in history. So I do some laundry and get ready for work. I head to work at about 4:30 and we are pretty slow. Summer, my coworker, the drunk one. Should show up at 6:15. Around 6:40 we get a call saying she is going to be late because she got pulled over. Anyway around 7:15 she shows up and you can tell she is still a little drunk. From the moment she is there she is not behind the bar but instead out talking to people and her drunk friends. About a half hour later she says she is sick and has to go home. Likely story, we all knew she just wanted to go out a drink more. So here Nicky and I are on a busy busy Friday nite just the two of us when there is usually three. We were swapped and crazy busy all nite, but we did make about 290 apiece. That is very nice. Well Summer needless to say is now fired so we need to hire yet another new girl, she just started 2 1/2 weeks ago. After I got off at around 3:30 I went home to find lots of people in my living room some passed out and some really high and some just fun. I laughed so much it was great but it made me sad I missed the whole day with these guys. I must go to Peoria soon and visit Suzie. I heart her.

Saturday was equally lame because I worked again. We had a sorority party. It reminded me of why I quit my sorority. It was still fun because there was four of us behind the bar so this made things much easier then on Friday night. It was funny watching the regulars drool all over themselves when the girls in short short skirts and high heels were on the tables dancing. I love my job, but I really enjoyed my day off today. I did spend most of it catching up on sleep:) I work Monday and Tuesday and will be glad to have things back to normal with the same ol' drunk regulars I'm used to.
I'm going to Myrtle Beach, SC for spring break. Woot!!! I'm leaving Monday, March 20th, when I get off work and have to come back Friday to work on Saturday because I could only get a couple days off, but I'm super excited. It's going to be nice to get away from Champaign, IL for a while. It has kind of been depressing and boring around here for me anyway. I get to relax on the beach for a few days and maybe maybe if I’m lucky go to Carolina Opry or Family Kingdom or keep your finger’s crossed for Dolly Pardon’s Dixie Stampede ;)

Hello, I'm your martyr. Would you be my gangster?

I'm just waiting for my laundry to finish so I can get ready for work. I know that an hour and half before you have to be at work isn't exactly the best time to start laundry, but I am the world’s biggest procrastinator. P.s. wow it's been a looong time since an update. The saddest part of that is I really don't have that much to update on. I was planning a fantastic spring break to California. It involved Disneyland and beach time, but alas I waited to long to book the plane tickets and now they are way out of my price range. grrrrr. Oh well there is always the option of driving somewhere, but where??? I need suggestions. A few of my friends are going to Tenn. but that really doesn't interest me at all. I have also thought about going to North Carolina to visit my Aunt and Uncle and Mel, but they all work so much I probably wouldn't get to see them very much anyway. So now what? Stay in Champaign? Chicago? We will see. Hopefully whatever I decide it will be tons of fun. Oh I brought the boyfriend to Sheldon, to see where I lived. We went to the local bar, Rustic. I had to show him that fine establishment. And of course then there is the river and well that's about it. It was still fun. My dad cooked ribs on the grill and we had a really nice meal. I think my dad has gotten past the fact that he has earrings and maybe even likes him. That makes me happy:)
This friday is Unoffical St. Patricks day and I have to work. It is prolly the bestest holiday of the year. I was going to try and get off but I really couldn't justify taking a day off to spend money and drink all day. I think I may just drink until 2 and then take a nap before work that could be fun, but hopefully I won't be hungover. Because working 10 or 11 hours hungover would prolly be the worst idea ever. Well I think my laundry is done....

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://thecolleenklingexperience.blogspot.com/2006/02/hello-im-your-martyr-would-you-be-my.html' title='Hello, I'm your martyr. Here it is Christmas break and I am one of only 2 other students who stayed to work at the Armory. Mind you I didn't stay here just to work at the Armory I am also working at the Legion, but still I don't want to be the creepy person who doesn't go home but just stays and works ALL break. I remember just last Christmas Break I went home for the whole break. It really wasn't all that fantastic because I didn't get to see my roommates for a whole month, but it shows that a lot can change in a year. The semester is nearly over. I have one more final on thursday evening and then I am done. All I can say is good riddens. I had a meeting today to meet with my advisor for my research next semester. I got it and I'm excited. Next semester should be a lot better and more fun hopefully. I am going to try and work less hopefully and balance my schedule a little better. I had my evaulation at the Armory last Thursday it went really well. My boss loves me even though I hadn't shown up for my 5 am shift in 5 plus weeks. I worked at the Legion on Friday night and we had a huge bar brawl in there. I had to call the cops and then the guy who started it decided to attack the cops. In the end, the guy needed to be tasered twice to be subdued. Needless to say he is not getting out of prison for quite sometime. It was really scary. I was shaking. The funny part was people were still ordering drinks admist all the wrestling. I thought about quiting but I like the job to much and my boss Bruce asured me that this hasn't happened in a year. So i'll stick it out. I need to be less of a wuss anyway. Now onto my boy. It's still going really well. I met his mom last week and he met my dad and Kathy. Both meetings went fairly well. My dad really didn't have to much to say other than "he has earrrings, but seems nice". I guess I'll take it. A few people have said to me that what do you see in him; you don't have anything in common. Which is true we don't have a ton in common, but thats the fun part. I'm getting exposed to things I have never been exposed to. For example (don't judge) I've never seen any of the Star Wars. So Aaron and I watched all but one. And I have to say I actually enjoyed them. It sounds dorky but oh well. I like what I like. I get to listen to all sorts of new music I would have never listened to before I met him and I actually really enjoy some of it. I have even went as far as to download some of it. We also have a lot of the same family values in common which is very important to me. The stuff we don't have in common like going out and partying, etc. He's kind of older and over it, but he still will go out and have a good time. I can't expect him to like everything I like that wouldn't be much fun at all. We'll just leave it at I'm happy with the realtionship.
p.s. did i mention Christmas came way way to fast. I am not ready at all.

I guess it's time for an update. Thanksgiving was pretty fun. It was a really long day of cooking and eating and family and I loved it. I wish I would have had more time to spend up there with them but I had to work Friday. Boo me. Speaking of working Friday. The tips were horrible. I am thinking everyone spent their money on shopping because I made less than 90 dollars and that is odd for a Friday night. I worked last night too. We we fairly busy all night, but not to the extent to where I was tired. I like those nights. I stayed around to have a beer and a few shots and then I drove one of my regulars home because he was to drunk to drive. I am beginning to feel more at home there. The customers are getting used to me and I am feeling less overwhelmed when I work. I am taking the LSAT again next Saturday December 3rd. I'm really nervous this time it's kind of my last chance before I apply to my schools. I took the night off so I can go out after I'm finally done. Pomeroy and The Dog and Everything is playing at the Canopy Club on that Thursday and I can't wait.
Now time for my I'm really a girl story. This morning Aaron and I were standing in his kitchen getting something to drink and he takes my hand and spins me. (To those of you who don't know I love spinning, I don't know why. I just do!) I asked what was that for and he said "nothing I just remember you said you like spin" It sounds stupid but that should of or could have been something he easily forgot but he didn't. Yay! I finally picked a good one. p.s. Usually I get bored with boys quickly, but I'm not bored of him. :) There has been a few times where I think hmmmm maybe i'm getting bored but then he will do something fantastic and I'll remember that I really like this one.
Well that's all I got, but I do want to mention although I swooned when Aaron spun me no one can spin me like Chrissy spins me:)

It seems like the only time I blog is when I'm at work. I don't know if this is because when i'm at work it is the other free time I have to write or is it the only time I am bored enough to sit and write. Well anyway here I am at work....wishing I was still sleeping in my bed next to Aaron. Although he is skinny he makes the best pillow ever. But yay! he will be there when I get off at noon. :) Did I ever mention how much I heart Whitacre(it's her new nickname that I'm going to make stick). She is my favorite friend ever. I have been just thinking about this a lot these past couple weeks how compeltely boring my life would have been if I never met her. Sure I would have already been graduated, but what fun is that;) This also got me thinking about 'true' friends and I really don't have that many. I have lots of friends, but only a few that I could rely on to always be there. I can count those people on one hand...Jason, Chrissy, Mel, and Melissa. I'm ok with this because these people are so fantastic why would I ever need anyone else. And to all those friends who only call when they need me to do something for them or just to go out and party....I'm over you. I don't know when I became the person everyone comes to when they need something. I think it might have to do with the fact that I can't say no. I don't mind helping people but I also don't like being taken advantage of either. Well i'm going to actually do some studying

Sooo bored at work.....the university did something to it's network and we can no longer use express AIM. This is very sad because that kept me entertained a bit at work. We did find a tv and we are watching some sort of wife swap show. It's really lame but it's either that or the home shopping network. I really don't have that much to talk about but I also don't want to do homework....hence why i'm blogging.
I got to sign up for my classes next semester. It should be pretty fun. I'm taking a few cinema classes. Hopefully i won't have to work to hard. knowing me, I'll probably change my schedule five times before the sememster even begins. It's what I do.
In other news, Aaron and I are an offical couple. :) It's exciting
Also the episode of Law and Order: CI with Matt was on last night. He was so good, now I want to see him in more things. I would be so happy for him. I actually saw a preview for one of his indepent movies the other day. It might be coming to theatres in the spring. I found this link http://www.brickmovie.net/home.html I really like his glasses, they are extra hott.

That's all I got.

Happy Halloween

Another Sunday, another day bored at work. I never realized how boring the Armory is until now that I have an actual job. I just sat here for 20 minutes and watched a squirrel bury something in our sandpits. The sad part is that has been the most interesting part of my day. I worked all weekend so I didn't get to party it up for Halloween, which is very lame. Oh well I made more than enough money in two days to pay rent and utilities for November. Did I mention I love bartendning. Hmmm. What else has been going on? I found out that I have to work thanksgiving day open -close. I also have to work New Year's Eve. That's what I get for being the new girl I guess. The new boy, Aaron, and I went on our first official date on Thursday to the Olive Garden. It was sort of a double date with Chrissy and Joe. It was fun, he was so shy it was cute. Trying to find time to hang out together is so hard, we have two very different schedules. It's been like three weeks and I still like him and I am not bored, this is a good sign. Matty sent me a signed picture of Vincent D'Onofrio. It's my most prized possession. p.s. He is so hott. I can't wait to watch Matt on Law and Order: CI. I'm going to have a premier party at our house to watch the episode. Yay! I think that's it for now....Time to do homework.

I'm at work and really bored so it's time for a little update-a-rool (that sounded cooler in my head) We'll start with the most important thing, I like a boy. Which is great because I haven't liked a boy in forever. Not saying boys haven't been in my life I just haven't been interested enough to care about them. We met at a downtown Champaign bar. One of his friend's came over and convinced Chrissy and I to sit with them. Well Chrissy more than me because she's the nice and polite one. I was content sitting at the bar with just her and I. But meeting new people is fun so we went over there. I wasn't really interested until we started talking and he just seems like a nice guy. It hasn't really gone anywhere yet because he's shy and I'm lazy. But we'll see if anything hopefully he can be a new friend.
In other news, I still love love love the job. It's so much fun. The roomies came in last night and I got to make new fun drinks for them. I also got a note passed to me by one of the patrons; he asked me out on a date. I thought it was so cute but now when I of course am not going to call me and he comes in i'm going to feel so bad. I guess that's the life of a heartbreaker I guess. ;)I'm geting so many sweet hookups at this job. I met two tattoo people that said they would give me deals on my next tattoo. I also met the lady who works for the college of law and a guy who owns a bar (my next job if I need it). I'm really starting to find my own place there but I still don't think the other girls who work there like me very much. I have to win them over like I did with the regulars.
Matt's first episode of Law and Order: CI aires on November 6th watch it.
OK i'm bored with this......to be continued

I had quite the weekend. I worked Friday night until 3am and I got home and had to do laundry and shower. I got up around 7:30 so I could do some homework and then head out for Chicago. On the way up there I had to stop in Watseka so I could deposit some money in my account. I found it very humorous to go in there with my 250 dollar bills from my tips. I got to Chicago and was completely exhausted. I visited with my grandma for an hour and I was off. I had lunch with my friend. Then it was to the Mall with Lauren. I had intentions of buying something but I found it very difficult to part with any of my hard earned money. Then I saw the movie "in her shoes". I read the book a while ago and enjoyed it but since the two were very much alike I didn't get the full affect of the movie. After the movie I took my grandma to gamble on the boat her favorite thing ever. Not exactly big on losing...esp money. It was really crowded and the poker machines which is what I wanted to play were all full and people were waiting for them. I lost 20 bucks and was ready to leave. After that I was suppose to visit my friend's new dorm room (like I wanted to do that anyway). But we didn't get back from the boat until 11:30pm. I talked to my bff on the phone until 1ish and then went to bed. I then got up at 6:30 on Sunday so I could clean and get my car ready to go to six flags. I picked everyone (Lauren, Leanne, and Alison) up and we headed north. We got there in approx. 1 hour which I thought would take 2. So we got there at 9 and the park didn't open until 10. I rule but it ended up working out because we ate and then got in line. Fast forward we went on 8 rides by 3:30 and went home. After dropping everyone off. I had to run an errand and guess who I get to meet Jason's new gf. What a treat. I only met her for a second so she doesn't have my approval yet. Then I visited Melissa and her new place in Oakbrook. It was so cute. We were going to see a movie but at a movie I wouldn't be able to catch up with her. So instead we put in a Full House DVD and played a bored game it was so much fun. We made a Meijer trip and then I headed back to my grandma's. I got there at midnight and passed out. I had to get up early to take her shopping before I headed back to Champaign. I took her shopping and got back to her place around1 ate lunch and visited with one of my mom's old friends and then headed back to Champaign. Got back here around 5 and headed to work around 5:15. So I haven't had a minute until now, it was just to much. I over booked myself this weekend since I hadn't been up there in so long. Next time I go up I'll pace myself and not try to do as much. That's it for now I should be working on my take home final that is due tomorrow morning. It's dumb or I'm dumb I don't know anymore.

Happy Columbus Day!

I can't believe it's October 10th already. Where is this semester going? Time sure flies when you are busy. I worked this past Saturday at the Legion. It's was my first night all alone. It went really well. I was most worried that I was going to be short on money but I was actually over in both of my drawers. Some of the regulars make me never want to drink when I get older. I shouldn't say the regulars I just mean the women with the regulars. They are so mean to me. I have no clue why. I am nothing but nice to everyone in there. This women lets call her Janet asked me to call her a cab and when I did and I told her that her cab was on the way she got all angry. She's like why did you call me a cab, are you kicking me out. Then she proceeded to give me dirty looks until the cab came. The driver came in after dropping her off and told me that she fell flat on her face when she got out of the cab. I had to laugh. Everyone else makes the job so much fun. Everyone is so interesting. Don and Alice (a cute older couple) told me how they got married in here last year. They didn't want anything fancy (since it was both of theirs second marriage) and wanted to spend it with their friend's at the Legion. It was adorable. I have a job interview at O'Charley's on Wednesday and if they will give me a job with the hours I am available I am going to take it. It would be nice to actually start saving money instead of just making enough to cover all my bills.
I am so excited for this weekend. I am going to Chicago on Saturday. I was suppose to go Friday but alas I am bartending that night. I'm ok with that since I will make lots of money to spend anyway. So I Saturday I have to leave Champaign early (which may be hard to do since I may not get home from work until 4) so I can fit everything in I want to do. I plan on seeing Melissa and going downtown for a bit or just doing lunch or something. Since it's been way to long since I have seen that girl. I was going to have my hair done but that would take to much time and money I don't want to spend right now. I have to spend some quality time with Grandma. On Sunday, Six Flags in the game plan. Susie and brother, Lee, and me are the only for sures right now. But if you are interested let me know. I have to work Monday morning so it's back to Champaign for me on Sunday. It's really sad because I don't think I am going to fit everyone it:( and I don't know when the next time I will be able to head that way.
That's it for now. Back to studying for my midterm.

So I started my new job last night and it was so great. I think it was my destiny to be a bartendner. It's like a Colleen's natural element. I get to smuze and talk to people all night and be around alcohol and not to mention all the money. It was lot of hussling and we all know I like to take things slow but after a few hours things got better. I really didn't have a free minute to myself but seeing my tip bucket at the end of the night really made things better. I had to go to the bathroom for about 4 1/2 hours but had to hold it until close. All the people were so nice though. They would come and see me and be like there's the new girl and introduce themselves. I think they could tell I was nervous. And boy was I nervous. Being a bartender is like being on stage you are the center of attention and all times and every minute someone wants something from you. The crowd was a lot different than I was expecting. It wasn't all older people. The age rage was like 22-75. It was a really interesting night. I think I am going to have some fun stories to tell about the patrons.

Yahoo has this LAUNCHcast and its a bunch of different radio stations. I am listening to the 80's and it's awesome. I haven't heard a not fun song all morning. Right now it's playing Janie's got a gun. You can never go wrong with Aerosmith at 8 in the morning on a Saturday. All I want to do is go back to bed, but alas I work until 11. Knowing that I had to get up at 7:30 this morning you would think I wouldn't go out and stay up until 3, but not me. I'm such a rebel. Matt is doing two episodes of Law and Order:CI and I am so proud. L&O is my favorite show ever. He was hanging out with Vince (Vincent D'Onofrio) I was super jealous because he is my favorite. I really hope this kid makes it. It's a really tuff business. I'm glad I have no talent at all. He on the other hand is a great actor. He just needs to get his big break. I'm rooting for him.

Tonight is my first night at my bright and shiny new job. I am the newest bartender at Post 71. I'm super duper excited.

p.s. There isn't much news to report. Other than I am desperately poor and looking for an additional job. I am not used to having no money. Before when I had no money I had like a secret fund to fall back on but now I have used up all my sources and am barely living paycheck to paycheck. I can pay 86% of my bills and the rest are going unpaid which isn't a good idea but I have to have my prioities. Eating being one of them. I have been looking for a job for the past month and half. It's quite sad nobody wants me. Tear. I do have an interview tomorrow at the VFW in Urbana for a bartending job. That could be interesting. Veterans are fun! If I don't get an prospects this week it looks like I will have to try to find a job in retail either that or sell my soul. Which to me is the same thing. I hate retail. You all may remember that I worked at old navy for about three months and it was a nightmare I hated every moment of it and I was unbearable after I got off work. If nothing else comes up I will be forced in that direction. Ok that was my everyone feel sorry for me blog of the week.

Wake me up when September ends

I don't actually like that song but I think it really quite fitting for this month. It just needs to be over. Have you ever been surrounded by lots of people and feel really alone? These past couple of weeks I have really felt more alone than I have ever felt. I don't know why I am not any more alone than I normally am or have been. It's just been hitting me lately. I feel so disconnected from everyone, my family, everyone. Maybe it's because I haven't had a chance to visit Chicago and my family that was become such an important part of my life. I haven't been able to go because I am completely broke and a little in debt so I am trying to pay back people and get some money for myself so that I can actually leave Champaign for a weekend.
There is a major rift in the household on Vine. I don't really want to talk about in a blog but it is really upsetting me. You think you know someone and then do something so unbelievable. I just will never be able to feel the same way ever again.
Every semester I say that I am not going to let myself fall behind on readings and every semester I do it. It is so hard to make myself sit down and read and now I have to read six chapters for a test I have on Thursday (which I should be studying for right now but I am blogging instead) in a book that I do not own. I love it when I put myself in situations like these. It's only mid September and I have already missed the allotted amounts in all my classes so this means I have to go to all my classes for the rest of the semester, this could be difficult. Other than that I really enjoy my classes and I found out last night that I only need 1 actual psych credit next semester to graduate and the rest filler classes. This is very exciting because it means that I'm almost done. Yay me! In other news...I have been working all the hours that I can at the Armory until I can find something better. Matt's movie won a emmy (now I guess I should rent and watch it). For some odd reason he didn't go to the show I so would have went that would have been faboulous. My dad is moving back from California mid October semi permantely. He will go back to California every two weeks for his treatment. That's a whole lot of traveling. Hopefully he will rack up some awesome freqent flyer miles and I can use it for spring break or something. That's about it.

Don't you hate it when you are wrong. I don't mind it to much until I have to admit it then being wrong really sucks. One of my bff's and me got into this huge fight recently and I don't know what to do. Although I know I was wrong, I don't want to admit it because that's not fun. I don't know if I wait it out if my friend will come around. We are both really stubborn people; it may take a while.
Moving on....My annual camping party was this past weekend. Although it was not the success it had been in past years it was still fun on all accounts. Beer pong was played, beer bongs were drank, marshmallows were roasted. All the usually camping activities. I would like to thank all my friends who didn't forget about me and came out...You guys are the best. I heart you! The weird thing about the whole party was a lot less people were there then I have ever had, but the cleanup took longer than ever. I found mustard in some of the strangest places. I would also like to give a shout out to country bob's steak sauce and 2.15 short stacks.
To update a little I am still currently looking for another job. I have had a few interviews for bartending at some sports bars. Getting one of those jobs would make me really happy because one weekends work would more than pay my rent. I have a second interview at The Fat City Saloon with the owner tomorrow. I don't think I can take much more rejections so hopefully I get one of these jobs. I don't have a computer that works anymore so I am forced to borrow the use of Mike's computer or wait until I can go to the library or use the computer at work. That's not fair. Classes are long and boring, but the nice thing is I only have classes on Tuesday and Thursdays. That's all I got.

I'm going home tomorrow. It's exciting yet i'm going to miss California sooo much. It's such a different place out here. Just as I was begining to love it, now I have to go back to Illinois, but alas I'll be back sometime. I was getting a little sick of the picture perfect weather everday anyway.
So i'm having a party on August 27 or September 3rd whatever the popular vote decides. So far the third is winning and thats good because I will have more time to plan it out and such. It's sure to be a good time. P.s if you are reading this then you are probably invtied and you should come.
I don't really have much to report but I will be back in Champaign on either Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning and I can't wait. I haven't seen my roommates in like 5 or 6 sixs. Yikes! thats way to long.

I'm officially old!!

I turned 22. I officially feel old but it's all good. I'm still in Cali. And I love it and hate it at the same time. I love it because of the weather and it's fun and interesting, but I miss all my friends so much. It seems like I have been gone a year instead of just a month. It's also nice being out here because its like I have a family that I never had. I have a little brother that jumps on my bed and is kind of annoying and a older sister to shop with. I have to say that I was against the family thing from the beginning, but I am glad that I took this chance to come out here and become closer to everyone. Of course we do things everyday so I have been keeping so that's fun. I went to Disneyland last week and that was fun but I am in no hurry to go back anytime soon. Its overcrowded and overpriced. I did see a lot of University of Illinois shirts but I was to chicken to go and talk to them. While my step grandma was out here visiting we went on a tour of a castle and then stayed at a hotel on the beach. It was so beautiful there. We saw these huge elephant seals that were so cute. When I get home I am going to post some pictures of them. I've been to the mountains, lakes, oceans, and its been great. One thing I find really interesting is it can be 95 here at our condo and we go to the beach and need a light jacket and the beach is about 20 minutes away. That's so weird to me. Next week we are going to Tijuana so that should be interesting. I plan on getting everyone some interesting souvenirs. Today its horseback riding in the mountains. good times!!

50 Things you may not know about me.

This post is for Mel. Well that's the thing now that i look back I haven't been actually doing all that much, but I have been busy every day. I was hanging out in Sheldon for a few days good times. This past saturday I got uncle Jay drunk and I mean real drunk so that was entertaining. I love drunk old people. And on a happy note I am reconnecting with old friends though myspace.com I love the internet. I'm in North Carolina right now visiting my Aunt and Uncle. I drove alone it was quite liberating. I was going to go with my friend but some things came up and it just didn't work out. On a happy note it took me barely 9 hours to get here and thats with stops and a sit down lunch and construction. I love it here so much. They have the bestest pool in the world that I was in for hours and 3 dogs and 4 cats to play with and a fabolous yard. Next Monday I take off for Los Angelos. I'm excited to go there; it will be a good time. We are planing a trip to Disneyland and from what I hear its way better than Disneyworld. I'll be back in Illinois the middle of August all vacationed out and ready to go back to school. That's all I got if I'm bored later this week i'll give a better update.

I'm bored so I thought I'd blog. I really don't have that much to update on. I still haven't found another job. So I am still working at the Armory. Matter of a fact I get off in about 20 minutes and I am going to go home and nap. I lead an exciting life. Although last week I did go out twice on Wednesday and Friday. Both times I had the most fun ever. On Wednesday I went to white horse and I knew everyone there or at least I thought I knew everyone. A short wrestler bought me shots, which was a mistake but fun anyways. On Friday we had a 'party' at our apartment, which basically consisted of all our friends. We then went out to Brother's where I spent to much money and had even more fun. I think I am going out tonight but I don't My dad comes home a week from today and I couldn't be happier. I don't like him living in another state, I feel like I have no family. I'm so glad that I have such great friends that rock at life. Well i'm off. I'll update soon on the trip to the puppy park with Ava and Kurt's new dog...yikes.

Keep your secrets away from me

I'm finally back in Champaign after a mini-vacation in Chicago for 6 days. I was only meant to stay 2 days, but couldn't bring myself to come home. I really did nothing significant while I was up there. I hung out with Jason before he had to leave for his training, spent time with my Grandma, applied for more jobs, and thats about it. I went out on Friday night to like a neighborhood bar. I really didn't want to go at all, but the person I was with just wanted to go out and have a beer. So she bought me a beer I had a sip and decided I wanted to go home. She finished her beer and as we were leaving a guy grabs my arm and tells me not to go, he'll buy me and my friend a drink. I politely refused but he still went ahead and did it. 2 drinks (that i didn't drink) and 2 jager bombs later he convinced me to play pool. I felt guitly since drinks are pretty expensive. Although I complained a lot it was a fun time and college guys rarely buy girls drinks, so that was nice. Back to the subject of jobs I still do not have one. I really really need one. I keep applying and applying and I all ever hear is rejections. I think I am starting to develop a complex. Nobody likes me...Nobody wants me. I didn't go to work Monday or yesterday. I didn't tell my boss I wasn't coming. I haven't felt any consequences yet so maybe there will me none. I have 12 hours at the Armory next week but that is no where near enough to support my habits. If anyone has any insider tips let me know. I get to work with Ray in the mornings now. He is back from vacation. He is such a nice old man. He tells his stories and it makes me happy. He has these great war stories and it reminds me of when I was younger and my dad would tell me his war stories. Now mind you my dad was a creative license so his stories are always a little exaggerated but still.
Hot List
*Mr and Mrs Smith-a must see(Brad and Angela are hott)
*Mini-vacations that make you appreciate Champaign
Cold List
*Radio-why do they insist on playing the same 5 songs all day long
*Brakes

You are Deb and you could drink whole milk if you
wanted.
Which Napoleon Dynamite character are you?
brought to you by

I stumbled upon this awesome quiz just now at work and I just had to put it in my blog.

Our apartment has become boring now that I am working 30 hours a week and start at 5am and Chrissy is working full time. I think we all were in bed by 11pm last night. I know I was in bed by 9:30pm for the past two nights. When did I become this old? If only I would have had this commitment during the school year. I was at my grandmother's for the weekend. She put me to work cutting grass, cleaning the yard, and planting flowers. It was fun. My dad is coming home today for a week. I can't believe I haven't been out with the crew in over 6 weeks, what was i thinking? P.s. Ryan needs to not live in California. Jason visted it was a mini spring break reunion thingy. We were just missing Jenny L, Susie, Chris, and Adri. We really didn't 'do' anything in particular, but its always fun when we all get together. I learned how to play beer pong. I wasn't really any good until I got drunk, then I rocked. We all decided to go out to the bars. Jason of course isn't quite 19 yet, but we thought since he had a military I.D. it would be alright. We went to the ILLINI INN and we were all sitting and having a good time and then someone who worked there came over and asked to see Jason's I.D. and he promplty got kicked out. Oh well whatcha going to do. Then of course all the good times were all ruined by me having to get up at 6:30 this morning (still a wee bit drunk of course). I don't know why I always think its a good idea to work in the morning. I am not what you would call a morning person. All next week I am opening at 5am. It's going to be very interesting to see how well I do at that. It seems like everyone is graduating but me. It makes me sad on the inside; I don't want to do another year. I will raise my gpa a bunch since all my required stuff is out of the way and all I need is hours. So I am going to take nothing but fluff classes and it will be fantastic. Next year I am living in a fantiastic house waaayyy off campus, but it has a yard and a porch and trees and a huge garage and talk of a hot tub. Ok back to "supervising" the Armory.

The girl from Ipanema goes walking

So I just came into work today, to return my key to the Armory and got conned into working for the next two hours, this sunday and a bunch next week. When after I said I was done with this job for the summer. I'm so easy. I have nothing else next week I mind as well be making some money. So my summer plans keep on changing and now I have no idea what I am going to to all summer? I have four options.....I need help decided, so any advice would be fantastic.
-stay in Champaign with no job offers
-live in Chicago with my Grandma and work
-live in my step-mom's empty house and work
-live in California and work and go to Bartending school
This weekend was so fun. It feels like a did so much but really I accomplished nothing. I was suppose to study for my Psych 245 exam, but I didn't even open my book bag all weekend. I was hopefully going to secure a job, but that didn't happen. And to top it off, i think I realized that I couldn't live with my Grandma all summer. She lives by midway and its really loud and obnioxous there and she gets up really really early. So now my definate plans for the summer are squashed. Today I spent a good 5 1/2 hours studying in the library for my one exam and I did pretty well. I just wish I had studied a little more. Today, I went to look at doggies again. i love doing that so much, but I love them all and want to take them all home. Chrissy is in love with the cutest dog ever and hopefully we will get her. She is a lab and beagle mix, we think. She is really stumpy and makes me happy.
Well i'm to distracted right now to blog anymore, I really want to play gold miner. So i'll leave this one with a to be contined....

Are we there yet?

Is this semester over yet? It seems like the longest semester of my life! Just three more days of classes, two papers, two finals, and a presentation and I'm finished. I can not wait to have three months off; it's going to be GREAT. I seem to have an obsession with working. I think I have worked more these past 2 months, then I did all last semester. I closed last night with Melissa, which is also fun. We played scatergories. I am in love. It took us 5 times of playing for me to finally win a game, and I only won by one point. I still did a victory dance. After work I had great intentions of going out and actually making it to an after hours. I didn't even make it out, let alone stay up late enough for an after hours. This semester has brought out the I want to stay in every night and go to bed by 11pm Colleen. It may sound crazy but I am enjoying it immensely. I hate to see what next semester is going to bring. I am going to be living in a house way way off campus, and I don't want to go to the bars now and I live on the same block as most of them. Well I'm not going to think about that now. I actually was early for work this morning. Usually when I open at 8am on Sunday's I am late, and there is a line of people waiting to get in. Today noone even came in until 9. Grrrrrr. I am looking to find a job for the summer. I need a good job so that I can make a bunch of money and pay off a loan. I am looking for work in the Chicago area; so if anyone has any connections let me know. I have a few offers, but I am keeping my options open. Ok Back to 'work'.
p.s. If a fit of boredom I glued jewels to my cell phone case and it now looks incredibly lame.
http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2667867 <--very funny video. I got into two huge fights this weekend. One was with a person who really doesn't matter to me at all, so I won't even discuss that. The other was a person who is my very bestest friend. I think he hates me right now. I totally understand why, but I hope he gets over it quickly because I really don't like it when people are angry with me. On a happier note there is less than two weeks of classes left. I'm excited but very busy. I have to write 3 papers by next week and finish up a group project. My group met last night for nearly 3 hours and we have to meet again tonight to do more of our project. I thought this project was going to be easy, but I think because we all thought that and put everything off to the last minute, we are crazy busy right now. I can't wait for the semester to be over and actually have a whole summer off. Yippee!!! Of course i will still have to work, but anythings better than taking classes during another summer. We just found out last week that if we want to get out of our lease that it is totally possible and this makes me very happy because that means I don't have to pay over 1200 dollars for rent when I probably wasn't even going to live there. I will definitely miss the summer Champaign life. Last summer was so awesome. We spent all day drinking my the pool, I would go to work just to turn on the lights and get paid for 2 hours work, took some classes that I never went to, and went out almost every night. The bars were so fun over the summer. Leaving my roommates will be very sad. I have become very dependent on them. They entertain me! I am also going to miss the freedom of living on my own. I have been doing it for two years I know it’s going to be difficult to go home for those three months, but I can’t help and think of all the money I am going to save. Maybe I will buy a new computer with the money I save. Mine doesn’t really like to stay on. It would rather just turn itself off right when I am in the middle of doing something. Who knows, the possibilities are endless. Well not really endless; it is only 1200 dollars. Ok back to the writing and the paper and the never ending work, mw-hai.

Oh I like coffee and I like tea

I just walked to work and I was the only one out. Granted it was 7:40 in the morning but there wasn't even anyone in cars. It was surreal considering how big this campus is. I have worked 35 hours this week. It's been very interesting being here practically full-time. I don't know how my boss does it every week. No wonder he was spotted at Kams wasted. Alls I know is I can't wait for my paycheck. Chrissy and I applied at FedEx the other day. It was a fun interview. We had to lift up this fifty pound led box thing past our shoulders. It was fairly easy. I also posted my resume on Monster.com and I sent it to a bunch of possibly employers. I really need a job for this summer so if anyone has a hookup, let me know! I don't necessarily have to stay in Champaign. I am very bored of it, and would love a new environment for a few months. I went out 4 days this past week. That is a record for me...This semester anyway. I did realize one thing this past week. I really don't like to go out with couples. As a matter of a fact it makes me want to gag a little or a lot. This may sound like I'm jealous, well a little yes, but also it never to seems to be as fun. Moving on, here's my week in review.
Tuesday-the roommates just decided to drink at the apartment. We all got tanked off a few Bud's. And then it was a Kappa Sigma's 21st so we headed to Murphy's for a few beers and to buy the kid a few shots. I was really drunk and it was difficult to get up for class.
Wednesday-the roommates again drank Bud in the apartment, but this time it failed in getting us drunk. At about 11:45 we headed to White Horse. We ended hangout out in the Sigma Kappa section. It was really smoky(I smelled horrible when I left). It was really boring and I got home before 1:15.
Thursday-I really wanted to go out for some reason. So I to talked Kurt and he suggested Barfly(a downtown bar). So Kurt, Jenny, Joe, Chrissy, and I headed downtown. The bar was very scary at first. No one was in there. We went in and ordered drinks and that's when the pounded started. Apparently it was techno night. It was awful. Again we were home at 1.
Friday-We didn't decide to do anything until about 10:30, so it was to late to go out on campus. We headed to the Office in downtown Urbana with the same crew as the night before + Allison. It was so fun. The music was good and not to loud and it was very chill. I fell in love.
Last night I got off work at 10:45ish, all the mom's were out in full force. I remember last year when we went out on mom's day there was a ton of drunken mother's hittin and dancing on EVERYONE. I was scared so I stayed in, plus I had to be at work before 8. All the mom's on campus made me very sad. I wish I would have thought ahead and not been on campus. On a happy note, my dad is coming home May 24th, yippee. I have nothing else to report, except only 5 more hours to work, yay!

Get on a treadmill Sean May

I walked into the financial aid office today and told them my dad got denied for a parent loan and they told me I could get a student loan. I signed a piece of paper and on sunday I will have money credited towards my account. It was a little to easy. Then after trying to make an appointment with a counsler I was reminded of how this school really works. All but one counsler is on vacation until next week; so i have to just try and walk in and see him. And of course the secretary said I have to go to another building and get my degree audit report. Grrr, i hate how in order to do anything you have to go to at least six different buildings. I am trying to decide if I want to go out or stay in. I am leaning towards staying in since Law and Order: CI came on. I love Vincent D'Onofrio. The law and order's make my world go round. I am pretty sure that is the only show I watch all week. Maybe that and Boy meets World. I have been especially add like these past few weeks. I haven't been able to concentrate and have been distracted so easily. I really need to buckle down it's the end of the semester and i have to finish up all my projects and do well. I participated in two riots one Saturday and one on Monday. of course the one on Saturday was way funner because we won, but Monday was equally as supportive of our school, team, and each other. About 10,000 people crowded the streets and then moved to the quad; it was pretty fantastic. Going to Chicago this weekend to visit with my Grandma and help Lauren pick out a prom dress. She got asked to the prom by a Senior. I'm a little nervous for her. She is the only freshman of her friends going. This guy better watch it thats all i got to say. I think I have decided not to take classes this summer. I feel its not worth it. Meh. Ok i'm spent.
p.s. sorry for the random blog, lots of things running through my head

Do you see things the way I do

I hate money. Basically because I don't have any and would really like some. Seriously if everyone had money it would make the world a better place. I need to go on Monday and file for yet another student loan for tuition and misc other things. I figure since I am going to be in school at least another 3 1/2 years it's going to take me at least 3 years of working to pay off all my loans. Can't wait for that!! I have a huge exam in my Industrial/Organizational psych class. I was under the assumption that since in the syllabus it said covering chapters 6-9, that it would have questions from all those chapters. I went to the review session and was told that most/all the questions will come from 6 and 7. Those are the two most complicated and confusing chapters with lots of theories and crap. I should be studying all weekend, but alas the Illini are in the final four and are playing on Saturday, so of course I must celebrate. Both Urbana and Champaign has enacted liquor restrictions starting this morning at 6 am. They are afraid of rioting. We watched the local news the other night and they were warning people to stay out of campustown this weekend. I love this school. Hehehe. My dad is out in California again. I don't know how people can go weeks without going home or seeing family. It's only been two weeks, and I miss him already. I'm going for a short Sheldon visit once I get off work at noon. I'm just going to do laundry and pick up mail; all the fun stuff.
p.s. have you ever googled yourself its fun

Something something something shutup

I really need a vacation. I know I just got back from spring break, but it took a lot out of me! I am happy to report we all made it back safe. I could have done without all the unnecessary drama. We had a great condo on the beach with three pools and 80 degree weather all week so I guess I really can't complain. Over all my spring break was pretty tame in comparison to last year, and sadly I'm ok with that. I realized after this trip I am over partying like that. I did have a near death experience whish was so scary. I tried to swim out to the sandbars but ended up swallowing to much water and getting really tired. Kurt ended up saving me, he is my new favorite friend. We also got Jason drunk for the first time. In the end he was drunk 6 times in 4 days, it was pretty awesome. I was feeling esp motherly this trip so I was only drunk twice, but both those times I went all out. But on this trip I had the most random experience. All of us were sitting on the beach drinking and our Illinois flag was sort of flying next to us. I heard a voice saying go Illini and it sounded familiar. I turned around and it was Cole Robertson walking the beach by himself. Of all the people to randomly see, someone from my graduating class of 13 people is just crazy. I haven't talked to him in at least a year and a half. I invited him to hang out and watch the game with us, but nothing ever came of that. I guess I am not good enough for someone who hangs out on the beach by themselves and comes to South Padre with only one other person. Moving on I have pictures and they will be up soon. Nothing else really to report, except I have to many things to do this week and next week. Between finding another job, projects, experiments, and class work I am going to be a busy girl. See you on the flip side.

Almost Home

Here I sit in the Undergrad yet again. I mostly got everything done I wanted to accomplish, and I have an hour before my class starts. I just found out that the lab I have to make up can only be made up on Friday morning 8am. Alls I have to say to that is booo!. So unoffical St. Patricks day was last week. It was the best time ever!! We all got up at 8ish and headed to Clys. I know what you're think 8am. Who gets up at 8am, most of the campus never gets up that early, but when it's for a worthy cause such as drinking they came out in record numbers. The day was full of lots of green beer and good times. It is probably my favorite holiday of the year. After a much needed nap, we headed out at 9ish only to wait in line at Brother's for an hour and a half. The line was nearly a mob scene by the time we went in. Mike decided to open a tab since we get charged a lot less when we do this, mainly because the bartenders are to lazy to go over and write down the drinks we ordered. I found Sam and stole him from the group he was hanging out with because we are more fun anyway. At the end of the night when Mike went to close his tab it was $77. When he asked why it was so much, the bartender informed him that we drank 48 jager bombs, which are 3 dollars apiece. So in the end we got charged a whole lot less, but seriously who does 48 jager bombs. Saturday we decided to movie it up, and Cory calls and says he's going out. We are never going out on the same nights and thats sad because I love hanging out with him. This week I have done a lot of napping. I am at the begining stages of getting sick so I am trying to stop it before it begins, so every chance I got I went to sleep. It leads for a boring life, but oh well. This past week have brought even more problems in the Spring Break plan. We had 10 people coming which was our capacity, and then we added one more which we thought wasn't a big deal. Apparently that 11th person is going to have to pay for a wristband everyday. This makes me sad because I thought that we could have as many people as we wanted to. There is to much drama for me. But Jason is coming on Spring Break with us and its going to be fun! We'll get him drunk for the first time, and it'll be great. Last night Melissa called and wondered how I felt about free Asian food. I of course love Asian food, but free Asian food is the best. So Melissa, Chrissy, and I wondered over to the Y and waited in a long line for about an hour, apparently everyone loves free food. We thought they would be cheap since it was free, but it got a pile of food from different Asian countries. I was very happy and full at the end of the excursion. p.s. is it the weekend yet. I can't wait. I am going to Chicago on Friday to see family and hangout. Saturday I am getting my hair did at one of those fancy expensive places. I got a gift certificate for christmas that entitles me to a cut and a coloring. I don't know what I am going to have done. I'm just going in and going to say do something fun and hope for the best. We'll see how that turns out.

I never never never have a place to hide

So here I sit at the overcrowded Undergraduate Library again. I come here often, a little to much. Today I come here after my vegetable gardening lab and before I have to go to work because I know that I will get some work done. Inevitably I always end up procrastinating. The library is unusually crowed for 10:30 am. I wonder what everyone is doing here, probably the same reason I was here on Sunday and Monday and today. To study for exams coming up, get things done, print, working on group projects, etc. I have a love/hate relationship with this library. I am trying to convince my friend Jason to come on spring break with us. He would be the youngest one, but I think it would really be the time of his life. Spring break is so close and I still haven't paid any money towards it, this is because I have no money. I signed up for a extra hours at work this week, so hopefully I will be able to put some of that towards SB. I really hate that every month I just have enough money for rent, phone, and bills, with zip left over for anything else that might come up. My goal when I get back from SB is to find another job. I went home this weekend and it was good. I did a whole lot of nothing. I did get a queen size bed in my room and even though I'm rarely home its big and makes me happy. I also went to a party in Sheldon and didn't drink and still had great time. I know I was shocked too. I can't name one particular event that made it a fun but just talking with everyone I rarely see or talk is what made it a blast. I also finally worked out the situation with my friend, it didn't really go as smoothly as I had hoped, but it's done and hopefully with time we will go back to normal. This is going to be another long and painful week, but I think I have to get used to them for the rest of the semester. I have already had an exam and a quiz. I have a lab report due tomorrow, a quiz and 2 group meetings scheduled(p.s. I hate group meetings). I apologize to everyone in advance for my mood for the rest of the week.
p.s. I really really want a puppy

When it's all said and done

All I can say is I am glad this week is done and over with. I have to say this has probably one of the longest and most difficult weeks in a long time. There has been so many moments this week that I just wanted to break down and cry. From lab reports taking 5 hours to write up, to TA's not emailing me back, to sleeping though a lab and having to make it up, to work, and to studying for exams. I guess what won't kill me will only make me stronger, or however the saying goes, but I still want to complain. On a happy note, its finally Friday and I get to go home right after to work and I am so excited. It's going to be a fun filled weekend of reading, studying, and spending time with mi padre. So even though I had the week from hell I still managed to go out on Wednesday. We went to Brother's to watch the game and my first 10 cent wing night. Good times were had playing Uno and Go fish. The wings didn't impress me much they were to spicy. Later on that night we all went to White Ho, nothing really interesting happened. It was been dead lately, where has everyone been going? Although the evening was rather uneventful, I succeeded in forgetting my problems with alcohol. This semester I have seen a new me. Although I still go out at least once a week, I have been going to class, reading, studying, and getting my homework done well before its due. I can't explain the sudden change, other than I really want to get out of Champaign. I would really love to be done with school this summer, take the year off, and then go to Law School. Finishing this summer would take a lot of hard work on my part and my grades would suffer because I would have to do 11-13 hours. I'm still thinking about it, goodness I really hate making these kind of decisions. On a side note, I still haven't dealt with the 'friend' problem I discussed in my last blog. I could blame it on the fact that I have been really busy, but the main reason is I hate drama. Although I hate drama it doesn't mean that I don't cause tons of it. I just don't know what to do, in my family we just ignore problems until they go away. I feel that in this case that might not work, although I have been trying that. I will hopefully have this worked out by the end of this weekend. Yet another high school chum is getting married. Congratulations Danielle! But you make me feel so old, we rode the bus together for 3 years. p.s. Fun times were always had there. It seems like everyone is either married, getting married, , taken, betrothed, getting engaged. (or any other words you can think) I keep thinking what am I doing wrong, but then I remind myself that I am no where near ready for that type of commitment. I like being single its fun. And that's all I have to say about that...

Momma's Got a Squeeze Box, Daddy Doesn't Sleep At Night

Wow what a past few days. It kind of reminds me of a song that goes along the lines if I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have no luck. This has been so true of the past few days. I drove up to Chicago on Sunday morning to meet up with my grandma and to see my dad. My grandma says things that make me feel guilty about the events of this summer. Everyone always tells me not to fret about things but it seems that once something is in my head I can't seem to shake it. Other than that everything was cool until I tried to come home on Sunday evening. I got in my car and started it and it didn't sound right and then the service engine light started blinking. Of course I immediately called my dad. I'm a girl its what I do. He said that I couldn't drive it and would have to spend another night. This made me even more upset because this meant a) I would miss my Monday 9am Psych lab, which is impossible to make up and b) I I would have to run around and try to get someone to look at my car. I got up bright and early Monday morning and was totally frumpy. My dad told me to go to this place called Mario's. I couldn't for the life of me find it. Because we all know that girls can't drive or navigate. So I just decided to pull in this place called Prestige. It sounded like a nice name to me. I go in and I am giving the very cute mechanic my information and I tell him my name. The owner hears my last name and comes over and says "Are you Jack Kling's daughter". I say yes he's like I'm mike remember me. I sort of did(not really). So I said of course I remember how have you been. So after a little of catching up on how my dad has been. He immediately tells the guy working to pull my car in and look at it right away. Yet another example of why I think my dad is in the mob. So what was wrong with my car you might be asking yourself. Well apparently your not suppose to run a car on empty for long periods of time often. So my fuel filter was causing it to misfire. That's done and I can finally go back to my safe haven Champaign and I'm thinking nothing else could go wrong. I'm leaving my Grandma's I slip down like the last 5 stairs at her house and catch myself wrong and mess up my leg. So I drove home in pain and make it to my apartment and sit on the couch for the next 6 hours watching That's So Raven marathon and my awesome roommates taking care of me. p.s. This pretty much made up for the horrible weekend. It wasn't that bad of a Valentines day either. An old friend wished me a happy valentines day and its said but that was enough for me. I still haven't heard back from my professor or TA to see if I can make up the lab I missed or not. If I can't then I pretty much have to drop that class. On a side note, why am I such a horrible person. I couldn't even have the 'I want to be friend's' conversation. Now I feel really guilty that I lead someone on that really likes me just because I don't have enough guts to be a man about it and tell it to their face. Now I'm going to have to have it over the phone and that is going to make me feel even worse. I have never been good at confronting someone. I would rather just suck it up and deal with it. It's not the best approach to things, but hey it works.

I wanna be a baller

So where to start. All is pretty calm in the Cave(our apartment). Not to jinx it but everyone has been getting along pretty well and no major incidents to report. Other than a minor incident with a bag of lettuce. Friday I went home, and my dad and my step grandma came to visit also. I thought it was going to awkward and not fun, I was wrong. She told us great stories of when she was little living in Hungry. And how when they were taken over by Russia, her husband was able to escape but not with the rest of the family. So her and her two daughters had to stay behind for 7 years. I imagine that would be very hard. I feel kind of bad for complaining about the trivial things in my life but oh well. Saturday was equally fun. We decided to take a trip to Tuscola to look at Amish furniture and what not. It was boring and I was tired so meh to that. Saturday was the night of the ghetto party at Bryan's house in Sheldon. Although in my heart I wished I was in Peoria with the girls, I still managed to have a brilliant time. It was a poor showing, but I got to listen to my favorite type of music which never happens at Sheldon parties. Good Times! I got to see a lot of people and I drank a tad...to much, and drove home. Boo to me. Sunday I had to rush back to Champaign so I could watch the Illini game and of course we won. Indiana, ha like I had a doubt we wouldn't. I proceeded to nap through the superbowl. Oops, I missed all the commercials. We wanted to go see a movie last night, but I thought it would be better to save my money for better things, like going out. I really have to mention I hate when I have classes and everyone seems to know someone but me. In my vegetable gardening lab we have to get in groups of 4 or 5 people. Every group was comprised of people who knew each other. Subsquently I was stuck in a group of 4 friends. It was so awkward. I really hate Tuesdays I am busy from 8:30 am until 4ish between class and work. So today is Fat Tuesday and an Illini game I feel that it is my duty as a college student to go out and live it up plus I need to unwind. But I do have a pesky 9am Psych lab on Wednesday, what to do? Sorry for the randomness, and then I found 20 dollars.
p.s. Happy Birthday to Suzie, Chrissy, and old man Mikey.

Go ahead, go ahead and light up the town

It's the weekend. Yay! I got to work with Melissa today. We talked the whole time, it was great. I love that girl. I wish we hung out more. P.s. Did I mentions it's Friday and I'm excited. I'm going home today, that's always fun. My step-grandma is maybe coming to visit our house for the first time. She is this cute little Hungarian woman. But my step mom is in LA, so its just going to me her, my dad, and me. I hope its not going to be weird. She wants to go to Rocknome Gardens in Arcola on Saturday, so alas I am going to accompany them. Fun Times! So to recap this week, the basketball team won on Tuesday against Michigan State in Michigan. We are awesome. Wednesday was such a long day. I had to get a class added late and because this University is great anything you need done requires at least 4 trips to different buildings. So after walking all over campus I got that taken care of. Of course I felt I needed to unwind after that stressful day. It's a Wednesday so of course I went to White Horse for Karaokee and five dollar pitchers of rum and Pepsi. We had to pregame since there was tons of Miller Lite left. So Joe, Chrissy, and I played spades which made us all fairly buzzed. The Ho was kinda dead, but good times were had. Then it was off to Legends where we had a chance encounter with a Sarah. We never see her anymore. Boo! I get it; I'm not as fun as a frat boys! I guess I have moved on from Sarah. Then we headed back to the apartment and spent the next hour and half being thoroughly amused by the website adultfriendfinder.com. You should take a gander. For a class I am in have to design a project for a non for profit organization. Our main group is made up of 12 people each subgroup is 4. My group is so fun. We have one guy who wants to lead and do a majority of the work, and that makes me very happy. This is the first group I have been in for class where I feel that when I suggest something that I am actually contributing to the group. Usually I just feel dumb. So I don't say anything at all. We beat Purdue last night. Only 17 games left to win. Now for the In's and Outs.
Not working weekends is totally in!
Paying to do Laundry is out

Somebody called out my name as it started to rain

I just got out of my vegetable gardening lab. We planted spinach, cilantro, and some sort of lettuce. I was super excited, until I listened to my voicemail. That got me all angry. I am not the sort of person who gets angry; so when someone finally makes me angry, that person is going to feel it. So everyone is late with rent once in a while, right? But every month since we moved into our apartment, that is unnecessary. The before mentioned voicemail was from our landlord saying that a one M. Lazinski no wait that's to obvious, Mike L. is two months behind on his rent, and they are going to start eviction proceedings. I was completely shocked to hear this (I normally wouldn't be because he has been pretty unreliable) but because just last week this person had promised me that it was taken care of. So the dilemma here is what do I do about it? There are a few things I won't tolerate, and being lied to is at the very top of this list. If you don't have the money, fine, tell me maybe I can help. I don't want it to come to an eviction notice almost every month. p.s. This isn't our first encounter with Mr. Eviction Notice. Ok moving on, sorry about that rant I needed to get that off my chest. A ghetto teamed party in Sheldon, well if that isn't an oxymoron. Don't get me wrong I'm really over joyed about it. That is right up my alley. I am the eptimony of ghetto and all that it is. It should be a blast. But alas the Whitehouse girls are also having a party that weekend. I can't decide, both shoud be equally entertaining. I guess it is going to come down to who has the best theme. Its still early in the week plenty o time to decide. On a side note Chrissy and I started our 6 week plan to shape up for spring break. I defiantly need for than 6 weeks but its a start. Yesterday was the first day and I have to say it went very well. Just what the world needs. Some people I feel don't have adequate enough lives to post it for others to see, but I feel that somehow mine is different and may touch the world in some new way. Maybe bring them closer together, it may even cure world hunger and create world peace. Who knows? So you may be asking yourself what's so special about me? I don't know its not just one thing and its hard to explain. Everyone tells me I could write a book about the things I have seen and that have happened to me in my life. I would tell you all that interesting stuff from my past, but then you wouldn't pay for the book; so for now you wait until I publish my autobiography. What I can tell you is about my life now. It's far cry from anything you'd see in a movie but perhaps something you might see reenactment on a reality show.
Classes started, I am doing really well. I actually went to skip once, but when I came home I found out that the class was canceled anyway. I have a fairly easy schedule this semester. I admit I am taking some fluff classes, who doesn't. But hey Vegetable Gardening could be a challenge?!? I'm taking my required Psych Lab, and I have to admit its going to be awesome. The professor has already said 'we probably won't have to meet every week'. Good times. I am working a lot so I can pay back Chrissy for bills and try to pay off Spring Break. I'm working tonight until midnight and then coming in tomorrow morning at 8 am. I signed up to work at the track meet this weekend. So for 2 hours I had to sit in the locker room of Memorial Stadium and be a 'security guard'. Eh, its money. I can't complain to much. My job is pretty fantastic. I get paid to sit and do homework and study. I should be rolling in the dough soon.
What's hot and not this week according to Colleen!

Ceasar's Palace on A&E is hot

Walking in 5 inches of snow is not

Books by David Sedaris are very hot

My required textbooks not in stock at bookstores on campus
